Renault are set to release details over the Heidfeld/Senna race-seat situation at Spa-Francorchamps. There have been many reports in the media that Heidfeld will not be racing; instead, Bruno Senna will take his place.
After days of speculation, Renault finally offered a brief statement confirming that Sennna will be driving alongside Vitaly Petrov this weekend and have said that more details will be released on Thursday morning.
“A press release with further details on the matter will be issued tomorrow morning,” Renault’s statement said.
Additionally, 27-year-old former reserve driver Senna will speak to reporters in the FIA press conference.
German Heidfeld’s management has not been available to comment, but the Daily Telegraph said he desperately tried to retain the seat “before a judge on Wednesday”.
