After much speculation, it it rumoured that Formula 1 will soon be headed to India. The newspaper, the Economic Times, has said that New Delhi has been chosen as the host city and that a formal announcement of the decision will be made in March.
Central to the talks with Bernie Ecclestone over the possibility of the Indian Grand Prix has been Vijay Mallya, head of Kingfisher, who has recently signed a sponsorship deal with Toyota. Mallya has reportedly promised that his company would also be happy to be the main sponsor of the Delhi race.
