Gerhard Berger has strongly hinted that his 2007 line-up will be the same as his 2006 line-up, with Scott Speed and Vinantonio Liuzzi as his two race drivers. The Toro Rosso team are the last team to formally announce their drivers – the official announcement is expected when they launch their new car, the STR2, on Tuesday.
Speaking to the magazine Kicker, Berger said “We will confirm it in Barcelona and probably nothing will change – so our drivers will probably be Liuzzi and Speed. There were several alternatives but we are concentrating on our current drivers.”
It seems that they won’t be announcing their test driver though. Bourdais is the most likely candidate, however he is currently busy testing his Newman/Haas Champ car in Houston.
