Who will be the first driver to get replaced this year?

I wish it could be Nakajima but Piquet has to be the heavy favourite right now. I am disappointed to see Bourdais struggling right, getting out-done by a driver who didn't do much in GP2 last year and Fisichella has become the modern day Piercarlo Ghinzani.

Bourdais made some seriously poor gaffes last season, but showed enough potential to merit another go this year. So far it's not worked out, contrary to most people's expectations.

Nakajima kept his head down and did a solid enough job last season when most were expecting disaster one wheels, but he's not got the business done this season.

When it comes to ineptitude, Piquet is in a class of his own, however. He was absolutely terrible last year and very lucky to keep his seat. I can't remember the last time somebody put in such a poor performance and remained the sport. Even Philipe Alliot looked a better prospect.

Bourdais and Nakajima need to get their act together immediately. Piquet has long outstayed his welcome.

I think if I was a driver in champ car when Bourdais was champion I would hang my head in shame.

Nakajima, at least he is just a bit slow

Piquet is just poor, I wonder how much of him staying on is to feed Alonso's ego

Has to be Piquet.

Bourdais... you could say he'll get better once he's gotten used to the new car like last year, but that's quite unacceptable in itself.

Fisichella is really not doing much worse than Sutil (who i think is overrated), i know Sutil ended up in the points today, but he made the error and threw it all away. There are better drivers than both of them who should be in F1, hell, i think even Liuzzi is better and he's their reserve driver!

Ah well.. it's unanimous i guess. Although it is not as simple as it sounds....

I'm thinking it depends on what kind of contract he has w/ relation to Bourdais, Nakajima and Fisi, and what their respective teams find they need (including the salary)...... perhaps one of the others might get ousted before him, but if I were Renault management i'd have Grosjean warming up...

By the way, Buemi has been amazing. Rookie of the year! by far :)

Obviously Piquet is by far the worst driver currently racing fro a formula one team but I don't know if that makes him the most likely to be fired. Strange forces seem to come into play with this sort of thing and it is often the less well funded teams who change drivers the most. With this in mind I reckon Fisichella

It is a shame that Renault persist with Piquet. As a fan it is disheartening. It makes me questions some of the management, and I don't mean Flavio. I've always discounted him.

Right now, Nakajima is marginally worse than Piquet this season. That being said, Piquet will be the first to go because Naka's seat is a Toyota thing.

"Jesus Christ, it was a very, very bad race," said Briatore. "I understand if you spin once, but this was kind of a contest: the more you spin the more points you have. He spun a lot but no points."

Who said that about which driver on our poll ? :hehe:

I wish it could have been Patrick Head about Crashajima, but it's obviously Flav about Senor Piquet. :hehe:

Sadly not, I wanted to make it a competition.
Oh well.
I've noticed you've been critical of Nakajima lately 7up. However i'm sure you'd still have him over Sato? Surely?
