After 2 races we have had plenty of action on the track and that was before the crazy safety car/weather came into play! I really think the new regulations and the KERS device has allowed more overtaking.

One of the best scraps in today's race was perhaps Webber and Alonso when Webber passed Alonso, and then Alonso then used KERS to re-pass Webber, and then back down the main straight Alonso used KERS and almost the whole width of the track to try and keep Webber behind him. It's good to see the cars using areas of the track not previously used.

On this form, I think we may for once see an "interesting" race for a change at Catalunya-wn. :)

What do you reckon?

I agree. I think they have worked, even with a few of the fancy diffusers causing some complaints. KERS has been a great addition, too.

Wow what an idiot I was, I don't think they have at all, the last two races have been yawn-fests, the regulations made sod all difference.

Bring back ground effects, wider, fatter cars and Turbos.

The problem is the power of the brakes... they are definitely following each other closer around the corners!

Smaller brake ducts might help that, forcing the cars to brake earlier and more gently.

I think the new regulations have worked to a large degree. They were never going to live up to their media hype. Further, I think people are looking at the past with tinted spectacles. If you watch Grands Prix from the 1980s and '90s, there was not all that much more overtaking than what we're seeing at the moment. The principle difference was that there was less field spread and the cars followed each other slightly more. The reasons why Formula One is less entertaining nowadays is not because we aren't seeing NASCAR-style overtaking, but because: (i) the sport has become too commercialised and too corporate; (ii) the drivers are as charismatic as fence; (iii) most of the good tracks have been bastardised and/or taken off the calendar; and (iv), the regulations are much too restrictive.
