No more traction control in 2008. I think this is a good move and should hopefully improve races and confirm which drivers have real skill without the aid.

Do you think this is a good move from the FIA?[/u]

Definitely. It adds the element of driver error that F1 has been missing for a while now.

It's a start. We'll get to see who has good throttle control at least.

I am getting dizzy, One year it's in the next it's out....

I agree that driver skill should take precedence, but really there are many road cars which have it, seems strange to make the pinnacle of motorsport cars less capable than road cars.

If the FIA ban traction control, they should ban all ELECTRONIC driver aids. Bring back MANUAL shifters and the 3rd pedal that now is to rest your foot and at one time was called a clutch pedal. Anyone who has watched Senna do a qualifying lap around Monaco can appreciate the skill needed to do all of the above and then correct a power oversteer slide coming out of a corner. Then add on top of that being able to make your tires last......F1 in the late 70's to late 80's was the best. Today is just a bunch of puppets on parade....

That's my outlook also but sad to say it's not very likely to ever happen.

I think a while ago there was a thread on here where Kovalainen said he'd love to return to the days of clutches and manual gear shifting.

Banning traction control is a good idea, people moan about the FIA trying to "slow down the cars" but in this case this is to separate the real drivers from the PlayStation boys.

I'm looking forward to it - hopefully it brings a little more excitement to the race-track :)

great idea, but it's impossible to return to the third pedal, aswell it's impossible to eliminate all those stupid wings and winglets...no team want to throw away all the money spent in research, and anyway we should return to the 20-years-ago cars...
