- 19 Oct 09, 15:13#164119There's been a good few controversies this season. FOTA versus FIA was important, in the sense it was going to dictate which direction the sport was going in. That said, both Mosley and Ecclestone (and others, like Dennis and Williams) have seen this all before. Lie-gate was overblown, and was really more to do with forcing Dennis out of Formula One. Something similar was true of Crash-gate, as Mosley wanted to elbow Briatore out of the way as well. Crash-gate was shameful, but I'm not sure I see how it's been bad for Formula One. Okay, some will complain in the streets and a few sponsors won't be happy, but they won't stop watching or putting their money into Formula One respectively. So, I'd say it's been Crash-gate and FOTA versus FIA.
