Brazilian race stewards have concluded that although there despite the irregularities with the fuel of Robert Kubica, Nico Rosberg and Nick Heidfeld, no punishments will be handed out. It is understood that the stewards have concluded no significant performance advantage was gained by the drivers.
An earlier statement revealed that the trio of drivers had their race fuel stored at temperatures more than 10 degrees below the ambient temperature – a direct infringement of Article 6.5.5 of F1’s technical regulations. Cold fuel is denser than wamr fuel therefore it is theoretically possible to put more fuel into the cars, faster.
McLaren have no right to appeal the stewards’ decision therefore the result means that Kimi Raikkonen is set to be confirmed as 2007 drivers champion.
